MOUNT CARMEL, PA (June 6, 2016) — UNB Bank recently made a $250.00 donation to the Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger. Four-year-old Carter Mattucci accepted the donation on their behalf. Carter is a patient at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger. He was born with a congenital heart defect and has had four open heart surgeries since he was born. The state-of-the-art equipment and care he has received at Geisinger is in part due to the funds raised from the Children’s Miracle Network.

Carter is the Grandson of Jennifer Trefsger, Head Teller at UNB Bank. William J. Kuzo, President and CEO of UNB Bank recalls, “When Jennifer told me the story about Carter and the Children’s Miracle Network; I knew we had to help. Funds donated and raised stay local—so, it’s good to know our efforts are benefiting kids like Carter in our community.”

Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger helps make miracles happen every day at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Geisinger Wyoming Valley, and more than 40 medical groups and pediatric specialty outreach clinics. A nonprofit organization, it has raised more than $56 million for pediatric services, equipment and programs throughout Geisinger Health System since 1984.
