UNB Bank supports Mount Carmel Diaper Bank

May 7, 2019

MOUNT CARMEL, PA (May 6, 2019) — UNB Bank is proud to support the Mount Carmel Diaper Bank by offering its location as a diaper drop off. The drive is set up by Local Vision, a program of the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way. Local Vision works to alleviate poverty among those citizens classified as “ALICE.” ALICE, a United Way acronym which stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, represents the growing number of individuals and families who are working, but are unable to afford the basic necessities of housing, food, child care, health care, and transportation (United Way).  People in this category typically make too much money to qualify for many benefits but too little money to make ends meet.

From now through May 20, 2019, you can drop off unopened packs of diapers at UNB Bank or The Mount Carmel Library. Diapers will be distributed locally to eligible families in the Mount Carmel Area School District. Thank you to all who are supporting these families in need. Learn more at www.localvision.org.
